Indosat Collaboration With Conglomerate-Owned Company Anthony Salim, Breaks Through IMkas Electronic Money Expansion

JAKARTA - In the current digital era, the use of electronic money is increasingly massive. Indosat Ooredoo also did not want to be left behind, where they collaborated with Transaction Artha Gemilang (TAG), an affiliated payment service company owned by conglomerate Anthony Salim to launch IMkas expansion to Indonesian cellular users.

This is the latest server-based electronic money service. IMkas aims to complement Indosat Ooredoo's digital solutions, as well as encourage the adoption of digital payments through the use of electronic money and increase financial inclusion in Indonesia.

IMkas offers a new way of making easy and complete financial transactions. By using the IMkas application, users can purchase credit and cellular data packages from various operators, electricity tokens, game vouchers, purchase insurance for mobile phones, vehicles, and life insurance, pay water bills, Social Security Administration (BPJS) contributions, transactions via QRIS, remittances between users and other forms of financial transactions.

IMkas users can also invest in gold using the application. IMkas has also been integrated with other Indosat Ooredoo digital ecosystem services available through the myIM3 application.

Chief Commercial Officer of Indosat Ooredoo, Ritesh Kumar Singh said, there are 62.3 million Indosat Ooredoo cellular subscribers. Nearly 70 percent of them are 4G data service users who continue to be online every day.

"The IMkas application is a telco agnostic service. Indosat Ooredoo supports government programs to increase financial inclusion in Indonesia. With IMkas, we also want to educate the public about the benefits and importance of investment and insurance," said Ritesh, in a written statement, quoted Monday, November 29.

Meanwhile, the Director of TAG, Denny Dilham, said that the synergy between Indosat Ooredoo and TAG is to empower the community's economy through digital-based technology.

"We hope to provide convenience and access to more people using digital payment transactions in accordance with Bank Indonesia recommendations. Supported by the Indosat Ooredoo network, IMkas will have a great opportunity to provide services to consumers throughout Indonesia," explained Denny.
