Sri Mulyani Ranks Set Up Bodies, Ready To Face Tommy Suharto's Lawsuit In BLBI Case

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance stated that it is ready to face all demands related to the settlement of the Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) case which has been stalled for more than 20 years.

This attitude was conveyed by the Director of Law and Public Relations of the Directorate General of State Assets (DJKN) of the Ministry of Finance, Tri Wahyuningsih Retno Mulyani, in response to the discourse of Hutomo Mandala Putra alias Tommy Suharto who wanted to sue the government after his assets in Karawang, West Java was confiscated by the state.

In her speech, Tri said that the Ministry of Finance was currently in a waiting position. In addition, he also admitted that the Ministry of Finance had not received a summons from any party or court related to Tommy Suharto's proposed lawsuit.

"Regarding Mr. Tommy's statement in the mass media that he said he would take legal steps, we at the Ministry of Finance and the BLBI Task Force which handle Mr. Tommy's receivables, so far there is no information regarding what legal steps he will take", he said in a statement. press conference on Friday, November 12.

Tri also ensured that the government's position on the BLBI issue was clear, namely collecting collections to restore state rights by applicable laws and regulations. For this reason, he invited the parties involved in this matter and objected to taking legal action.

"Maybe we will both see what he will do", added Sri Mulyani's subordinate.

As previously reported by VOI, the BLBI Task Force is said to have confiscated the assets of PT Timor Putera Nasional (PTN) in Karawang Regency, West Java belonging to Tommy Suharto.

In detail, there are at least four areas of assets seized by the state. First, the land area of 530,125,526 m2 is located in Kamojing Village, Karawang Regency as stated in SHGB Number 4/Kamojing on behalf of PT KIA Timor Motors.

Second, the land area of 98,896,700 m2 is located in Kalihurip Village, Karawang Regency as stated in SHGB No. 22/Kalihurip on behalf of PT KIA Timor Motors.

Third, the land area of 100,985.15 m2 is located in Cikampek Pusaka Village, Karawang Regency as stated in SHGB Number 5/Cikampek Pusaka on behalf of PT KIA Timor Motors.

And the fourth is a land area of 518,870 m2 located in Kamojing Village, Karawang Regency as SHGB Number 3/Kamojing on behalf of PT Timor Industri Component.

Meanwhile, Tommy Suharto himself was assessed by the Task Force as being involved in the BLBI problem with a total debt of 2.6 trillion.
