The General Election Commission (KPU) announced the results of the 2024 Presidential Election recapitulation (Pilpres) on Wednesday night (20/3). However, the KPU results received opposition from the pair Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD.

Based on the rules in the Election Law, the Constitutional Court has a maximum of 14 working days to examine the 2024 election dispute. But even though the initial siding was held on March 27, the calculation of 14 working days has been calculated since March 25 because this date is set the date of case registration.

In the midst of the conflict between political elites, Political Communication Observer Padjadjaran University Kunto Adi Wibowo said the public should not be divided. He emphasized that the public must be able to distinguish between rhetoric for the benefit of the elite, which rhetoric aims to care for democracy.

"Well, this is what is difficult because rhetoric will be the same. It takes sharpness and depth to think for us to respond to elite issues," Kunto said, quoted by Antara.

Kunto added that the narrative war only occurs at the political elite level so that it will only cause conflicts between parties. But this conflict will be dangerous if it creates a narrative that affects the community to be provoked so that there will be divisions between supporters of certain groups.

"If it is a horizontal conflict, it will be difficult to reduce or cool its political tension," said Kunto.

He continued, there are many bad possibilities that can occur when conflicts have been created in society. One of them is the mobilization of large numbers of people to carry out anarchic and intimidating actions. Even so, he hopes that conducive conditions in society will be maintained during the election dispute process in the Constitutional Court.
