JAKARTA - A tree of the Angsana type with a trunk diameter of 60 cm suddenly fell on Jalan Gading Batavia, Kelapa Gading Barat Village, Kelapa Gading District, North Jakarta.

The tree fell because the tree's roots were naturally rotten and lacked supervision from the North Jakarta City Forestry and Parks Director.

The reason is that the rotten tree should have been pruned before it fell, but it escaped supervision.

As a result of the incident, a black Mercedes Benz car and a Bluebird taxi were broken by the tree. Two local residents were also injured.

The head of the Kelapa Gading Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Kiki Tanlim, said that his party had checked the scene of the incident (TKP) of the fallen tree.

"Information has been received that there are fallen trees that have resulted in 2 damaged cars and 2 injured victims," said AKP Kiki Tanlim when confirmed, Friday, June 26, 2021.

The two victims were known as Darmawan, a taxi driver (38) from North Bekasi, and Budiyono, a mercy car (Mercedes Benz) driver. Both victims were taken to Mitra Kelapa Gading Hospital for treatment.

"The damaged car is a black citizen's Mercy type with the number B 1389 EV. The car is damaged with the front glass and the hood of the car and the back is dented," he said.

Meanwhile, the damaged taxi car is known to belong to a blue-colored Bluebird with a windshield and a car hood.

Meanwhile, from the results of the victim's examination, the incident occurred when the victim Darmawan was about to park backwards at the crime scene, suddenly a rubuh tree fell and hit the windshield and the hood of the car.

"The victim with the initials D immediately turned off the car engine and got out of the vehicle to save himself," he said.

Furthermore, the fallen trees were cut by the North Jakarta Forestry and Parks Director. Meanwhile, the case was handled by the Kelapa Gading Police.

"We have put up a police line," he said.
