Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) arrived at the Ministry of Defense at 10.10 WIB alone, while Jusuf Kalla (JK) had visited first at around 09.30 WIB.
Juwono Sudarsono's body was laid to rest in the Quiet Room, the Ministry of Defense Building.
"We lost one of the best sons of the nation, the late Prof. Dr. Juwono Sudarsono. I knew the late personally," said SBY when interviewed after offering condolences as quoted by Antara.
Apart from the two figures, a number of members of President Prabowo Subianto's cabinet also expressed their condolences, including the Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti and Deputy Minister of Immigration and Corrections Silmy Karim.
After the inauguration procession was completed, Deputy Minister of Defense Donny Ermawan immediately led the funeral release ceremony to be buried at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery (TMP) in Jakarta.
A number of Ministry of Defense officials and the late family were also present at the ceremony.
SBY recalled that Juwono was a Defense Minister who also contributed to modernizing the Indonesian defense force.
