JAKARTA - President Director of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk Rivan A. Purwantono appeals to road users to avoid the peak of the Lebaran return flow.

"Seeing the high number of returning home traffic that leaves the Jabotabek area until H+1 Lebaran, Jasa Marga appeals to people who are currently in their hometowns to arrange their return trip to Jabotabek by avoiding the peak of the return flow which is predicted to occur on March 24, 28 and 29, 2026," said Rivan in his statement in Jakarta, Monday.

He added that for road users who have flexibility in time, they can shift their trips back to Jabotabek during the implementation of Work From Anywhere (WFA) on Wednesday-Friday (25-27 March 2026) so that there is no vehicle congestion during the peak of the return flow.

In addition, the public can also take advantage of the 30 percent toll rate discount program which is applied in the reverse period of March 26-27, 2026 in nine toll roads of the Jasa Marga Group with a continuous travel scheme, as an effort to encourage a more even distribution of traffic and minimize the potential for density.

"To avoid vehicle congestion, we urge the public not to travel at favorite times, such as morning and evening, and anticipate potential congestion on the route to tourist destinations, which generally experience an increase in traffic volume after the Eid al-Fitr holiday," said Rivan.

Jasa Marga said that the traffic volume leaving the Jabotabek area on H-10 to H+1 for the 1447H/2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday or in the period from March 11-22, 2026 reached 2,217,462 vehicles.

The figure is the cumulative number of traffic flows (lalin) from four Main Toll Gates (GT), namely the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate (Trans Java direction), the Kalihurip Utama Toll Gate (Bandung direction), the Cikupa Toll Gate (Merak direction), and the Ciawi Toll Gate (Puncak direction). The total volume of traffic leaving the Jabotabek area increased by 27.1 percent compared to normal traffic (1,744,683 vehicles).

Rivan said that as many as 2.2 million vehicles that had left the Jabotabek area were 62.8 percent of the total projection of 3.5 million vehicles that were estimated to leave Jabotabek during the period of 11-31 March 2026.

For the distribution of traffic leaving Jabotabek towards the three directions, namely the majority of 1,215,870 vehicles (54.9 percent) towards the East (Trans Java and Bandung), 555,339 vehicles (25.0 percent) towards the West (Merak), and 446,253 vehicles (20.1 percent) towards the South (Puncak).

Rivan explained that on H+1, the 1447H Eid al-Fitr holiday/Lebaran 2026 (Sunday, March 22, 2026), traffic leaving Jabotabek at the four main toll gates was still high.

The traffic leaving Jabotabek was recorded as 210,209 vehicles, an increase of 57.3 percent compared to the normal 133,637 vehicles. Meanwhile, for the volume of traffic returning to Jabotabek at the four main toll gates, 170,681 vehicles were recorded, still 2.9 percent lower than normal traffic (175,739 vehicles).
