Kasad General Maruli Emphasizes the Commitment of the TNI AD to Synergize with Basarnas in Humanitarian Missions

JAKARTA - The Chief of Staff of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak, emphasized the commitment of the Indonesian National Armed Forces to continue to synergize in humanitarian missions with the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas).

This was said by General Maruli when he officially became an Honorary Citizen of Basarnas, as a result of the great role and real contribution of the Indonesian Army in various Search and Rescue (Search and Rescue/SAR) operations throughout Indonesia.

The award was given in the context of the Dialog and Sarasehan Forum with the theme "Strengthening Basarnas in the National SAR System" which took place in the Dono Indarto Multipurpose Room, Basarnas Headquarters, Central Jakarta, Thursday (12/2).

During the forum, Kasad emphasized that, in accordance with the main task of the TNI in protecting all Indonesian people from all forms of threats, the TNI AD is always ready to support and provide assistance in disaster handling and SAR operations.

"Throughout our service journey, the TNI AD is very active. Every time there is a disaster or SAR operation, we are always involved in the search and rescue efforts for the victims," said Kasad, launching the information from the TNI AD Public Relations Service.

Kasad also emphasized the commitment of the TNI AD to continue to synergize with Basarnas in humanitarian missions. According to him, cross-agency cooperation is the key to providing fast, accurate, and effective assistance to the community.

The Basarnas Honorary Citizen Award is awarded to individuals and organizations that are considered to have integrity, humanitarian commitment, and significant and sustainable contributions in supporting SAR operations, both in natural disasters, transportation accidents, and other emergency situations. The assessment also includes aspects of reputation, innovation, and exemplary as public figures.

This award reflects the strong synergy between Basarnas and the TNI AD in various rescue operations. This cross-agency collaboration is an important element in providing a rapid, integrated, and effective response to the community affected by emergency situations.

In addition to Kasad General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak, M.Sc., the award of the Basarnas Honorary Citizen was also given to the Chief of Staff of the Navy, Admiral TNI Muhammad Ali, the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Marshal TNI Mohammad Tonny Harjono, the Head of BNPB, Lieutenant General TNI Dr. Suharyanto, as well as a number of officials from other ministries and state institutions.
