Kemensos has disbursed Rp100 billion for the Emergency Response to the Sumatra Disaster.

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Social Affairs (Wamensos) Agus Jabo Priyono said that the Ministry of Social Affairs had disbursed assistance of Rp. 100.4 billion for emergency response to floods and landslides in Sumatra.

"The total value of the assistance for emergency disaster response in Sumatra that has been distributed is Rp. 100,484,346,880 in the form of food, family kits (family equipment), kids wear (children's clothing), and food needs for 42 public kitchens," he said in a press conference in Jakarta, Monday, December 29. reported by ANTARA.

The details of the assistance that has been provided are for Aceh Province with a value of Rp. 43.6 billion, West Sumatra Rp. 19.4 billion, and North Sumatra Rp. 37.4 billion.

Agus also stated that the distribution of compensation for the deceased victims worth Rp. 15 million per person had been distributed to 86 heirs of the deceased victims with a total compensation value of Rp. 1.29 billion with details: Pidie Regency 2 people, Pidie Jaya Regency 30 people, and Sibolga City 54 people.

"Meanwhile, this will follow up on the distribution of compensation to victims in Padang Panjang Regency. Every data that has been diversified by the regent, mayor, and BNPB will immediately be followed up for the process of paying compensation to the deceased victims," he said.

Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Pratikno said, as of today, Monday (29/12), more than half of the areas in the three provinces affected by the disaster have switched from the emergency response phase to the transition phase of rehabilitation and reconstruction.

In Aceh, there are seven regencies/cities that have entered the rehabilitation and reconstruction transition, while 11 regencies/cities are still extending the emergency response period.

In North Sumatra, there are eight kab/cities that have entered the transition phase of rehabilitation and reconstruction, while the other 8 are still responding to emergencies.

Meanwhile, in West Sumatra, 10 regencies/cities are in the transition phase of rehabilitation and reconstruction, and there are still three regencies/cities in the emergency response phase.

"The areas that extend the emergency response status aim to make these areas more ready to enter the rehabilitation and reconstruction phase," he said.
