Minister Of Home Affairs Tito: OTT Central Lampung Regent Warning Seriously For Regional Heads

JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian reminded that the arrest of the Central Lampung Regent Ardito Wijaya by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) should be a warning to other regional heads to continue to uphold integrity.

"I think this OTT is also a warning again, for friends of regional heads," Tito told reporters at the Head Office of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Jakarta, Thursday, December 11.

Tito also regretted that there were still regional heads who were arrested by law enforcement officers for corruption cases, even though they had received briefing on regional head recruitment.

"I've noticed that it's only been a year, how many have been infected with OTT? Including the governor. Even though we've had a retreat, we've instilled national insight," he said, quoted from Antara.

The Minister of Home Affairs also said that Ardito Wijaya's arrest would be one of the evaluation materials in the regional head recruitment system.

When asked about the direct or indirect regional head elections, the Minister of Home Affairs said that both could be done as long as they were still carried out democratically.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) announced that the Regent of Central Lampung Ardito Wijaya (AW) and his younger brother Ranu Hari Prasetyo (RNP) along with three other people as suspects.

Meanwhile, the cases that ensnared the five were related to the alleged receipt of gifts and gratuities within the Central Lampung Regency Government in 2025.

The Daily Executive (Plh) of the Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Mungki Hadipratikto, revealed that the anti-corruption agency named the five suspects after carrying out a hand arrest operation (OTT) on 9-10 December 2025.

"After finding sufficient evidence, the KPK named five people as suspects, including AW as regent of Central Lampung for the period 2025-2030, and RNP as the younger brother of the Central Lampung regent," said Mungki at the KPK's Red and White Building, Jakarta, last Thursday.

Meanwhile, Mungki said three other suspects, namely Central Lampung DPRD member Riki Hendra Saputra (RHS), Plt. Head of Central Lampung Bapenda Anton Wibowo (ANW), and Director of PT Elkaka Putra Mandiri Mohamad Lukman Sjamsuri (MLS).
