The Aceh Government has extended the status of the hydrometeorological disaster emergency response following the widespread damage and need for intensive handling in a number of areas. This decision was announced by the Governor of Aceh Muzakir Manaf (Mualem).
The extension period is set for 14 days, starting from 12 to 25 December 2025.
Mualem explained that disaster conditions in various regions still require intensive, integrated, and coordinated handling. The situation on the ground is considered unstable so cross-sectoral work must continue.
"The hydrometeorological disaster that occurs in various areas of Aceh requires intensive, integrated, and coordinated handling," Mualem told reporters, Thursday, December 11.
A number of handling steps are still ongoing, including the evacuation of residents in affected areas, distribution of logistics for basic needs, improvement of infrastructure, such as roads and bridges, restoration of public facilities, including health, education, and religion, to improvement of other social facilities.
Mualem emphasized that the status extension aims to ensure that all government officials remain in full alert condition until conditions improve.
