JAKARTA - Deputy Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force (Wakasau), TNI Intermediate Marshal Tedi Rizalihadi, discussed the planned arrival of a new fighter jet belonging to the Air Force, namely Rafale with the National Armament Director, Direction Gernérale de l'Armement (DGA) France, Lieutenant General (Eng) Gael Diaz De Tuesta.

The discussion took place when Tedi welcomed De Teusta's state visit at AU Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Tuesday, December 9.

"It was discussed regarding readiness ahead of the arrival of the Rafale fighter aircraft to Indonesia at the end of January 2026, the training and infrastructure development program at Roesmin Nurjadin Air Base Pekanbaru," said I Nyoman Suadnyana when confirmed, Thursday, was confiscated by Antara.

The discussion was carried out because the Indonesian Air Force would receive the three French-made aircraft in the first gilir/batch in early 2026.

However, he did not specify what topics Rafale discussed at the meeting.

In addition to discussing Rafale, he said that the two had discussed preparations for training with Pegasse which will be held in 2026.

"The meeting also discussed defense cooperation between Indonesia and France, especially regarding the modernization of defense equipment equipment and the improvement of the Indonesian Air Force's air defense capabilities," he said.

With this meeting, he hopes that military and bilateral relations between Indonesia and France can strengthen.
