JAKARTA - A thief with the initials AIM (22) was arrested by residents while in action on Kelapa Dua Street, Cilincing Village, Cilincing District, North Jakarta on Saturday, December 6, 2025. The motorbike targeted by the perpetrator belongs to a celebration guest in the area.

Cilincing Police Chief, AKP Bobi Subasri said the incident began when the victim named Ella Widiastuti was attending an invitation to a celebration and parked her cream Honda Stylo in the parking area.

Shortly thereafter, the victim received news that his motorbike had been stolen by a thief.

However, the residents managed to find out the perpetrator's actions, so the perpetrators were chased.

The perpetrator took out a firearm-like object to scare the residents who were chasing him. However, these efforts did not dampen the mentality of the residents.

The residents were even more angry with the perpetrator's reckless actions. The perpetrator was later caught along with a replica object of a firearm which turned out to be an Airsoftgun type along with 5 bullets.

The perpetrators along with the evidence were then taken to the Cilincing Police for further processing.

"We appreciate the quick response of residents who helped prevent crimes. However, we still urge the public to prioritize safety when securing the perpetrators," said AKP Bobi when confirmed, Sunday, December 7, 2025.

In addition to the suspect with the initials AIM who has been arrested, the police also named two other perpetrators as DPO (People Search List).

"The two perpetrators are still DPO with the initials UJ and IY, they are still being chased. Residents are expected to report if they have additional information," he said.

From the hands of the suspect AIM, the police confiscated evidence in the form of a Honda Stylo motorcycle with the number B 4021 UEN, STNK and a photocopy of the BPKB, a ignition key and an airsoftgun.

For his actions, the suspect with the initials AIM was charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code regarding theft by weight.
