JAKARTA - The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) distributed logistics assistance packages worth around Rp700 million as support for recovery for residents affected by landslides in Banjarnegara Regency, Central Java.
"I forgot the total, but around 500 to 700 million. But this continues to be dynamic," said Minister of Social Affairs (Msnsos) Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul's nickname.
In helping to recover victims of natural disasters, the Ministry of Social Affairs has also prepared adaptive social assistance, which is provided in conjunction with psychosocial support services, public kitchens, and other urgent needs at evacuation sites.
"So it's not only support that is currently related to emergencies, but after that we will also have empowerment programs," he said.
Gus Ipul, as the Minister of Social Affairs is called, said that the government is currently handling the disaster emergency through logistics distribution and compensation for the victims who died in the disaster.
"Everything we provide support, even after the disaster we will later enter the empowerment," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
