JAKARTA - The Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya confiscated as many as 439 coli of illegally imported clothing or ballpres worth Rp4 billion from China to South Korea (South Korea).

Director of Special Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimsus) Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Edy Suranta Sitepu said hundreds of ballpresses were confiscated from two disclosures.

"The evidence is from South Korea, including the countries of China and Japan. The evidence that we managed to secure was 439 bales of used clothing," he said at a press conference at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, Friday, November 21, 2025.

He said, first, disclosure in the Duren Sawit area, East Jakarta on November 11. The police moved to the location and got a cold diesel truck carrying a ballpress. After being examined, 23 ballpresses were found in the vehicle.

The second disclosure was made on Sunday, November 16, 2025, which began with information about the loading and unloading of the ballpress in the Merak area, Banten. The police carried out developments to the point of successfully taking action against two trucks at Km 19 of the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) Toll Road.

"Then a search was carried out, the two trucks were examined, and hundreds of used clothes were found," he said.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Budi Hermanto revealed that the used clothes are planned to be circulated in Jakarta and its surroundings.

"The modus operandi of entering imported clothing items originating from South Korea is to circulate in several areas in DKI and surrounding areas," he added.

Investigators from the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya are still investigating, including investigating who is responsible.
