The Inspection Of Djarum Boss Victor Hartono And Former Director General Of Taxes Facilitates The Examination Of Corruption Cases For Tax Reduction

JAKARTA - The news of the demarcation abroad against the boss of Djarum Victor Rachmat Hartono or Victor Hartono as the President Director of PT Djarum, is in line with the wishes of the Attorney General's Office (AGO) in processing the 2016-2020 tax reduction corruption case.

Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) of the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) Anang Supriatna explained that demarcation abroad should facilitate the investigation process.

"But there is indeed a deconstruction according to investigators. The goal is that the investigation process runs smoothly," said Anang at the AGO Complex, South Jakarta, Friday, November 21, 2025.

Anang explained that the investigation process could be disrupted if the party concerned traveled abroad.

"There are concerns from investigators. If you travel abroad, it is feared that it could hinder the investigation process. That's all," he said.

As previously reported by VOI, news of prevention or demarcation abroad against the President Director of PT Djarum Victor Hartono has circulated.

The investigation relates to the investigation into the alleged tax corruption case in the tax amnesty program (tax amnesty) for the 2016-2020 period which is currently being investigated by the AGO.

Apart from the President Director of PT Djarum Victor Hartono who was banned from leaving the country, there were several other names such as the former Director General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance Ken Dwijugiasteadi, Karl Layman, Heru Budijanto Prabowo, Ning Dijah Prananingrum. The inspection was based on Decree Number KEP 379/D/DIP 4/11/2025.

Furthermore, the AGO investigators have examined a number of people who have been banned in this case.

"There are already (examination agendas). But I don't know five, ten, or twenty people. What is clear is that there is just deviation," he said.

Anang also explained that in this corruption case, the investigative team had also conducted searches at homes and offices whose addresses were still kept secret. As a result, the team confiscated a number of pieces of evidence from the search.

"There is some documentation, ( Confiscated) by the investigative team, that's all. To be used as evidence. I have not received exact information on how many assets (tributions)," said Anang.

Anang emphasized that this case is still under investigation and has not yet named a suspect.

Previously, Minister Imipas Agus Adrianto had confirmed that five people had been prevented or dismissed abroad. They are Ken Dwijugiasteadi as former Director General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance, Victor Rachmat Hartono or Victor Hartono as President Director of PT Djarum.

There is also the name Karl Layman as the tax examiner at the Directorate General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance. Then, Heru Budijanto Prabowo as the tax consultant and perlakuan Ning was beaten by Prananingrum as Head of the Madya Madya Middle Tax Office (KPP), Central Java.

The alleged corruption case of tax amnesty at the Directorate General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance is suspected of giving rewards to a number of people at the Directorate of the Ministry of Finance to reduce the number of company taxes.
