Commission III Of The House Of Representatives Appoints Rano Alfath As Chair Of The Police Reform Committee, Prosecutors And Courts

JAKARTA - Commission III of the DPR has officially formed a Working Committee (Panja) for Police Reform, the Prosecutor's Office, and the Court. Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR from the PKB faction, M Rano Alfath, was appointed as chairman of the Panja.

"This Working Committee, (Panja) for Police Reform, the Prosecutor's Office, and the Court, decided to appoint Brother Muhammad Rano Al-Fath from the PKB faction as chairman of the Panja," said Chairman of Commission III of the DPR, Habiburokhman at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, November 20.

The formation of the panja was taken at a meeting of Commission III of the DPR with the National Police, the Attorney General's Office, the Supreme Court (MA) on Tuesday, November 18.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Chief of Police, Komjen Dedi Prasetyo, Deputy Attorney General Asep Nana Mulyana, and Chairman of the Supreme Court Supervisory Agency Suradi.

In the conclusion of the meeting, Commission III of the DPR together with the National Police, the Attorney General's Office and the Supreme Court agreed to form a Panja for Reform by law enforcement officers, as an effort to supervise and accelerate the reform agenda.

"We agreed because our conclusion will later form a Panja. This committee will later be related to the reform committee, both the Attorney General's Office and the Court," said Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR Rano Alfath at the meeting.

In the meeting, various problems were presented in the institutions of the Police, the Prosecutor's Office and the Court. The problem then became the basis for forming a panja that encouraged reform in the three agencies.

"Therefore, that is a momentum for us, the supervisory function to reform the Police, the Prosecutor's Office and the Court," said Rano.

Rano said that the Panja would invite the leaders of the three institutions in the next meeting to follow up on the results of the meetings that had been held.

"Later we will invite back to hear the answers that must have been prepared, but maybe those present are the Chief of Police, the Attorney General, and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, maybe one of the Supreme Court," he said.
