Banjarbaru Police Investigate Alleged Embezzlement Of Health Office Funds

The Banjarbaru Police, South Kalimantan, investigated a case of alleged embezzlement of funds amounting to Rp2.6 billion belonging to the Banjarbaru City Health Office.

"The official report came to us last Friday (14/11)," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Banjarbaru Police, AKP Haris Wicaksono, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 19.

Haris said the report that came in was only in the form of public complaints and the handling of the case was still at the investigation stage.

"The point is that the alleged embezzlement of funds is still in the process of being investigated, so just wait for the results from the Inspectorate, whether the realm leads to criminal or corruption," he said.

Haris emphasized that his party was still waiting for the results of the examination stages from the Banjarbaru Inspectorate before taking further action.

"We follow the process first, wait for the results from the inspectorate, then further examination and legal proceedings can be carried out," he said.

Previously, Banjarbaru Mayor Erna Lisa Halaby stated that the case of alleged embezzlement of funds from the Health Service had been seriously followed up.

"I have heard the growing issues and immediately asked the Inspectorate to conduct an investigation," he said.

He emphasized his commitment to follow up on the alleged abuse of authority firmly and transparently.

"I have ordered the regional secretary, inspectorate, and the head of the Health Service to immediately confirm the truth of the allegation. If proven, sanctions will be given in accordance with applicable regulations and misused money must be returned to the regional end immediately," he said.
