JAKARTA - The situation on Jalan Warakas 1, RT 01/01, Warakas Village, Tanjung Priok District, North Jakarta, was suddenly crowded and shaking after residents managed to arrest 4 perpetrators of fraud in the mode of selling springbed mattresses worth millions of rupiah.

"So initially the perpetrator pretended to sell springbed. The perpetrator admitted that the items were the remaining stock of the factory. They sold them at a price of Rp. 2.5 million to the victim," said Head of RT 01/01, Warakas Village, Sudjarwo to reporters, Wednesday, November 19.

However, when several residents bought the springbed mattress, suddenly when it was used for sleep, the springbed mattress collapsed. The victim also suffered injuries.

"After buying the item, it collapsed. When checked, the springbed material was only used goods, foam cloth and used wood," he said.

Realizing that they were cheated, residents trapped the perpetrators. After the four perpetrators arrived, residents immediately arrested him.

"We have arrested four suspects of fraud. They sold fake springbeds, aka used wood that was only coated. Apart from arresting the four perpetrators, we also confiscated the perpetrator's grandmax car," he said.

For further processing, the perpetrator and the evidence were then taken to the Tanjung Priok Police. The victim also reported the fraud incident he experienced.

"The victim did not accept being deceived, he has made a report to the Sector Police," he said.

Currently, the case is under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tanjung Priok Police. The police are still developing the fraud case to find other victims.
