After The Constitutional Court's Decision On The Prohibition Of Police Multiple Positions, The National Police Forms A Pokja Team

The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, revealed that the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo had held a special meeting in the morning to formulate the initial steps in following up on the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) on the prohibition of members of the National Police from holding concurrent civilian positions.

"The National Police certainly appreciates and respects the decision of the Constitutional Court. This morning the National Police Chief has gathered relevant officials to discuss the steps that must be taken," he told the media at the National Police Headquarters, Monday, November 17.

He said, as a follow-up, the National Police Chief ordered the formation of a working group to prepare a quick study which became the basis for the technical implementation of the Constitutional Court's decision.

"The National Police will form a working group that makes a quick study regarding the Constitutional Court's decision, so that it does not become multiple interpretations in the future," he said.

The pokja team will work intensively and coordinate across institutions, including with the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan RB), the National Civil Service Agency (BKN), the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham), the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu), and the Constitutional Court itself as the case termination.

In addition to ensuring compliance with the rules, this rapid study is intended to formulate implementation steps that do not cause polemics. Sandi emphasized that the National Police Chief gave instructions for this work to be completed as soon as possible.

"Mr. National Police Chief conveyed that this should be resolved as soon as possible. We are racing against time so that everything can be resolved," he said.
