Leaking Gas Cylinder, Two Floor House In Grogol Petamburan Burns

The two-story house fire on Jalan Tanjung Duren Utara I Number 5, RT 07/RW 02 Tanjung Duren Utara, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta, Friday, is suspected to have been caused by a gas cylinder leak.

"It is suspected that there was a leak in the gas cylinder," said Head of the Operations Section of the West Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-dept., Syaiful Kahfi, Friday, November 14.

Syaiful said that his party received a fire report at around 10.10 WIB. "Residents saw smoke rising from the second floor of the house.

Then soon a fire broke out that grew. Then residents came to the Gulkarmat Sub-Department Office to be followed up immediately," he said.

His party deployed 65 personnel with 13 fire engines to deal with the fire.

"The blackout operation was completed at 11.08 WIB," he said.

Although there were no injuries or casualties, two heads of families with eight people lost their homes.

"The estimated loss is more than IDR 339 million," said Syaiful.
