Pramono Claims No Cut Recipients Of Food Subsidy Even Though The Budget Is Reduced At RAPBD 2026

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung claims that there will be no deduction in the receipt of food subsidies by beneficiaries in the implementation of the social assistance program next year.

This was conveyed by Pramono after receiving protests from a number of members of the DKI Jakarta DPRD due to a budget reduction of up to Rp. 300 billion for subsidized food programs in the Draft Regional Regulation (Raperda) on the APBD for the 2026 Fiscal Year.

"In my opinion, a different way of seeing it. As the governor in charge of this, I convey that there is no cutting of food subsidies in the APBD," said Pramono at the DKI Jakarta DPRD building, Wednesday, November 12.

Pramono admitted that he regretted the aspirations and complaints of DPRD members submitted at today's plenary meeting, especially regarding the reduction of the Rp300 billion budget. Therefore, Pramono guarantees that the DKI Jakarta Regional Government Budget Team (TAPD) will resolve the issue.

"I believe our enthusiasm is the same. For food subsidies, we will definitely make priorities for all of us," said Pramono.

In the meeting which was also attended by Pramono this afternoon, the DPRD and the DKI Provincial Government ratified the 2026 APBD Draft with a value of IDR 81.3 trillion. This figure is down from the initial planning due to the profit-sharing fund of IDR 15 trillion.

Before being ratified, a number of DPRD members submitted their interruptions. They protested the reduction in the food subsidy budget next year to Rp300 billion.

After the meeting, the chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Khoirudin, explained this matter. Khoirudin clarified that the budgeting for cheap food social assistance (bansos) will not be cut next year.

The DPRD and the DKI Provincial Government, according to him, will again add a reduced budget of IDR 300 billion in the 2026 RAPBD to be re-included in the draft 2026 APBD amendment which will take place in the middle of next year.

"God willing, there will be no deductions in social assistance funds, all of our programs are for 10 months first. Later, we will budget for (during the preparation of) changes (APBD 2026)," said Khoirudin.

Therefore, Khoirudin asked members of the DKI DPRD who had protested the reduction of the food subsidy budget of Rp. 300 billion in the 2026 RAPBD through their interruption in a plenary meeting to understand this dynamics.

"So, 10 months for social assistance is safe. Later (cheap food assistance) in November-December, I will decide in a change meeting, the budget for changes in July-August. God willing, it will be safe, and I appreciate my friends (DPRD DKI) who have loved the citizens of Jakarta," explained Khoirudin.
