Add 1 Member Of The Police Reform Commission, Jimly: A Mother

JAKARTA - The National Police Reform Acceleration Commission formed by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will add one female member.

"God willing, maybe next week there will be one additional person, ladies and gentlemen. I haven't mentioned his name yet," said Head of the Police Reform Acceleration Commission Jimly Asshiddiqie at the Police Headquarters Building, Jakarta, Monday, as reported by Antara.

The former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court said that the addition of female members was the idea of President Prabowo so that there was a woman's representation in the commission.

"Because after being inaugurated, it turned out to be all men. So, it's not our proposal, but his own. Well, his name already exists, just sign it," he said.

With the addition of female members, the number of members of the National Police Reform Acceleration Commission will number 11 people.

On Friday 7 November, President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated 10 members of the National Police Reform Acceleration Commission at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, chaired by Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court for the 2003 '2008 Jimly Asshiddiqie period.

The inauguration was carried out based on Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 122P of 2025 concerning the Appointment of Membership of the Commission for the Acceleration of Reform of the Indonesian National Police.

Apart from Jimly, who is also a member, Prabowo also inaugurated nine other committee members, namely National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo; Special Advisor to the President for Public Security and Order and Police Reform Ahmad Dofiri.

Then, Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Correction Yusril Ihza Mahendra; Deputy Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Correction Otto Hasibuan.

Then, the Minister of Home Affairs and the National Police Chief for the 2016'2019 period, General Pol. (Ret.) Tito Karnavian; Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas; Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs for the 2019 period 2024 as well as Chairman of the Constitutional Court for the 2008 period 2013 Mahfud MD.

Finally, the National Police Chief for the 2019'2021 period, General Pol. (Ret.) Idham Aziz; and the National Police Chief for the 2015'2016 period, General Pol. (Ret.) Badrodin Haiti.

The formation of this commission is one of President Prabowo's promises to fulfill the aspirations of the community regarding internal reforms of the National Police, especially after various pressures emerged from various community groups at the end of August 2025.
