JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya managed to arrest two perpetrators of the shooting of an hansip officer in the Cakung area, East Jakarta, which occurred on Saturday, November 8, 2025. One of the perpetrators was arrested while trying to escape to Lampung.

"In a short time, two perpetrators of the hansip shooting in Cakung were arrested by the Sub-Directorate of Resmob of the Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya," said Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Budi Hermanto, to reporters, Monday, November 10, 2025.

Budi explained that the first perpetrator with the initials R was arrested while trying to escape to the Lampung area. After that, the other perpetrator with the initials PS was also successfully secured by a joint team from the Resmob Sub-Directorate and the East Jakarta Metro Police.

'Perpetrator R was arrested when he was about to flee to Lampung. Furthermore, the PS perpetrator was also arrested not long after,' he said.

From the hands of the perpetrators, the police confiscated a number of evidences in the form of letter T keys, a motorbike, clothes used at the time of the incident, and a firearm.

During the examination, R admitted that he made a mistake when he shot the victim named Atim (42), an hansip officer who was the victim in the incident. The bullet he released penetrated the victim's body, causing the victim to die.

"I made a mistake, shot twice," said R when met by reporters at Polda Metro Jaya, Monday, November 10, 2025.

R also admitted that the proceeds of crimes committed with his colleagues were used to meet his daily needs.

In line with that, the PS perpetrators who helped in the theft of motorbikes said they did not mean to kill the victim's life.

"I didn't do it on purpose," he said briefly.

Perpetrators are subject to Article 365 paragraph 3 concerning criminal acts of theft with violence (curas) by taking the lives of others, as well as Article 338 concerning murder.
