Amid The Issue Of Inauguration Of BRIN Officials, IPB Chancellor Arif Satria Visits The Palace

JAKARTA - Chancellor of the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) Prof. Arif Satria arrived at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, Monday afternoon, November 10.

His arrival was in the midst of news of his inauguration as one of the top officials at the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).

"I received an invitation at 12.30 WIB from the Cabinet Secretary," said Arif Satria when asked by the media about his arrival at the Indonesian Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, which was confiscated by Antara.

Arif Satria arrived at around 14.30 WIB, wearing a complete dark and kopiah civil dress, holding his daughter's arm who was still a child.

He walked to the State Palace, Jakarta, through the pillar gate to fulfill the invitation.

When asked whether he would be appointed by the President as Chairman of BRIN, Arif Satria did not answer specifically.

"I was given an assignment according to the field," he said.

Arif Satria is the Chancellor of IPB who served for the second period (2023'2028). The man who was born on September 17, 1971 is a Permanent Professor at the Faculty of Human Ecology IPB and is known as a political ecology expert whose thoughts are often referred to in the formulation of national policy.

In addition to leading the IPB, Arif Satria is also active in various important roles at the national level, including serving as General Chair of the Indonesian Muslim Cendekiawan Association (ICMI) for the period 2021-2026, having been the General Chair of the Indonesian Chancellor Forum (FRI), and recently elected as Deputy Chair of the KPK Selection Committee in 2024.

His managerial career also includes the position of President Commissioner of PTPN Holding from 2018 to 2022.
