Minister Of Social Affairs: There Is Already A Proposal For BJ Habibie To Get A National Hero Title

JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf alias Gus Ipul said the name of the 3rd President of the Republic of Indonesia Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie had been proposed to receive the title of National Hero.

He conveyed that the proposal had been submitted by a number of people and the awarding of the title of hero for BJ Habibie would be followed up by the government.

"There has been a proposal. Slowly from the community it has been proposed, later God willing, it will be processed," said Gus Ipul, his nickname, at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Monday.

The Minister of Social Affairs also revealed that this proposal had become a discussion. However, he could not confirm when the awarding of the title for BJ Habibie would be held.

"I'll see. But there have been proposals, there were also talks," he said.

On the same occasion, Gus Ipul explained that the families of 10 National Hero figures will get financial support of IDR 57 million per year.

However, he emphasized that this form of support should not be seen based on its value.

According to him, the support provided by the government is a form of respecting and respecting the services of the 10 national heroes who have just received the title.

"If you look at the value, it's not too much. However, this is part of respecting, respecting so that families can continue to build up the spirit of the heroes. We give support of IDR 57 million per year," added the Minister of Social Affairs.

President Prabowo has awarded the title of National Hero to 10 figures who are considered to have contributed greatly to the nation and state.

The awarding of the National Hero was carried out as a form of state appreciation for the contributions of leaders in the fields of leadership, democracy, human rights, and taking sides with the people.

Ten figures who received the title of National Hero, namely:

1. KH Abdurrahman Wahid (State of Political Struggle and Islamic Education)

2. Great General of the TNI HM Suharto (Armed and Political Struggle Kick)

3. Marsinah (Social and Humanitarian Struggle Kick)

4. Prof. Dr. Mochtar Kusumaatmadja (State of Legal and Political Struggle)

5. Hajjah Rahmah El Yunusiyyah (The Field of Struggle for Islamic Education)

6. General TNI (Ret.) Sarwo Edhie Wibowo (Armed Struggle Field)

7. Sultan Muhammad Salahuddin (State of Struggle for Education and Diplomacy)

8. Syaikhona Muhammad Kholil (In The Field Of Islamic Education Struggle)

9. Mr. Rondahaim Saragih (Armed Struggle Kick)

10. Zainal Abidin Syah (State of Political Struggle and Diplomacy).
