National Police Chief: Weapons Secured In Explosion Incident At SMAN 72 Toys

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo revealed that the firearms seized from the perpetrators in the explosion at SMAN 72 Jakarta, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, were toy weapons.

Listyo said that the toy gun was allegedly related to a series of actions by the alleged perpetrators before the explosion occurred.

"We found the type of weapon. The toy weapon, there is certain writing and it is also part of what we are investigating to explore the motive," he told the media at the State Palace, Central Jakarta, Friday, November 7, 2025.

"Including how the person concerned then assembled and then carried out the action. Everything will be explained after all the information on the findings in the field," he continued.

Listyo revealed that the alleged perpetrator had been identified. Officers are still investigating the identity, environment, and the condition of the perpetrator's house to string up the background of his actions.

"As for the alleged perpetrators, we have found them, members are conducting an in-depth investigation regarding the identity of the perpetrators, then also the environment of the perpetrators, including houses and other things that we are currently investigating," he said.

Listyo said that one of the two victims who underwent surgery was the alleged perpetrator.

"One of those who are currently carrying out operations, the alleged perpetrator. Until now, no one has died in the incident," he said.

The police also emphasized that all findings in the field, both from investigations and investigations, would be presented after the series of investigations by the joint team from Polda Metro Jaya and Densus 88 were completed.

"And of course it will be informed further after the joint team from the Metro Police, from the Densus, carry out further investigations," he concluded.
