Police Investigate 75-Year-Old Grandfather Who Hanged Himself At Karawang Public Cemetery

The Karawang Police immediately followed up on reports of the discovery of a 75-year-old grandfather suspected of committing suicide by hanging himself in the public cemetery area of Tamelang Village, Karawang Regency, West Java.

"After receiving the report, the officers went straight to the field, processed the crime scene and initial investigations," said Head of the Public Relations Section of the Karawang Police, Ipda Cep Wildan, in Karawang, Saturday, confiscated by Antara.

He conveyed, according to the results of the initial examination, the victim was identified as a man named S, a laborer who lives in Tamelang Village, Mekarjaya Village, Purwasari District.

Initially, the victim was identified by a witness named Kindeung Nurhakim (40) on Saturday, November 1 morning.

At that time, Nurhakim was about to go to the garden. Then when he passed at the scene, he saw a blue plastic drum and someone was in a position hanging from a white rope tied to a mango tree trunk.

The witness then informed the incident to other residents and the victim's family.

Receiving the report, the police from the Karawang Police together with the Karawang Police Satreskrim Inafis Unit immediately went to the location to conduct a crime scene investigation and initial examination of the victim.

After the process of processing the scene was complete, the victim's body was then taken to the funeral home in Tamelang Village for burial.

From the results of the family's statement, it is known that the victim has been depressed due to the chronic stomach pain she suffered.

The family stated that they had accepted the incident as a disaster and refused an autopsy, by making an official statement.

"The police have taken police steps ranging from receiving reports, securing crime scenes, examining witnesses, to coordinating with the Inafis Team for forensic examination in the field," he said.
