Allegations Of Corruption In Thection Project Must Be Completely Investigated

JAKARTA A criminal law expert from Tarumanegara University, Hery Firmansyah hopes that law enforcement officials will immediately thoroughly investigate allegations of inflating funds or mark-ups in the railway high-speed rail project so that this issue does not roll wild.

"The public has been waiting for an official attitude regarding this widely discussed issue for a long time. There must be action first from law enforcement officials regarding what kind of attitude regarding this case is," he said, Sunday, October 26.

He also urged Commission III of the DPR to intervene to provide clarity on the status of this polemic, whether it is in the realm of law or not.

"This discourse is already crowded in public spaces, whether it is necessary then Commission III also voiced that at least legal or non-law issues should be cleared in this matter," he continued.

According to Hery, after the legal clarity exists, conclusions can be drawn about those who must bear responsibility.

"Because of course if they touch the realm of accountability, of course they are related to project ideas and disbursed the funds," he said.

Dia menegaskan, semua pihak yang terlibat dalam proses pembuatan dan pengesahan perjanjian proyek tidak boleh lepas dari kewajiban untuk memberikan penjelasan.

Pasalnya, penjelasan dari para pelaku utama inilah yang dinilainya sangat dibutuhkan publik.

“Mereka yang membuat dan menandatangani perjanjian tak luput dari pihak yang seharusnya, memberikan klarifikasi serta menjelaskan terkait persoalan yang muncul dalam isu Whoosh ini,” tutup Hery.

He emphasized that all parties involved in the process of making and ratifying the project agreement must not be separated from the obligation to provide an explanation.

The reason is, this explanation from the main actors is what he considers to be very much needed by the public.

"Those who made and signed the agreement did not escape the party they were supposed to, provide clarification and explain the issues that arose in the issue of ThisASH," concluded Hery.
