BEKASI - The Bekasi Metropolitan Police arrested two children in conflict with the law (ABH) with the initials PR and DW after being the perpetrators of the beating, causing the FA victim to die in the North Cikarang District, Bekasi Regency, West Java.
"There are three perpetrators, two are still ABH and one is an adult. One other perpetrator is included in the DPO (People Search List)," said Bekasi Metro Police Chief Kombes Mustofa, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 21.
He explained that the unfortunate incident began when North Cikarang Police officers received a report that someone was lying on the side of the road covered in blood. When the officers arrived at the location, the victim was immediately rushed to the hospital.
"The victim was immediately taken to Bhakti Husada Hospital but his life could not be saved due to a sharp weapon wound to his chest," he said.
The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cikarang Police together with the Bekasi Metro Police Resmob Unit immediately moved quickly to carry out an investigation until they managed to identify the victims who died as a result of being beaten and hit by sharp weapons by three of their schoolmates.
The police pursued and arrested the two perpetrators along with related evidence, namely two sharp sickles and three-meter-long pieces of bamboo which were strongly suspected of being used during the persecution.
Mustofa revealed that based on the results of temporary identification, the motive for injuring the victim with a sharp weapon of the type of sickle was because he wanted to show his identity and get a victory, allegedly related to the existence of certain groups of teenagers.
"But we will be back again, because this is the victim and the perpetrator of one school. Usually it's different schools," he said.
The police chief again appealed to parents, the community and the school to be more active in supervising children's activities, both inside and outside the school environment, including monitoring their social media activities.
"School age children should be at home at a maximum of 21.00 WIB to prevent potential involvement in risky activities. Extra supervision is needed from parents and the environment," he said.
