JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin communicated by telephone. During the communication, the two agreed to meet in Hungary in two weeks.
Axios on Friday 17 October reported that news of the planned meeting shocked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who had just arrived in US Washington on Thursday afternoon.
"However, shortly after landing at Andrews Air Force Base, Ukraine's President and his team were shocked to see Trump's announcement that he had spoken with Vladimir Putin and agreed to meet him in Hungary the most hostile country to Ukraine in the European Union," the media report said.
Zelenskyy's arrival in the US to meet with Trump discussed the US President's willingness to supply Tomahawk's long-range missiles to Ukraine.
Zelenskyy is also scheduled to meet top US defense companies Raytheon and Lockheed Martin, during his visit to the US.
Zelenskyy's meeting with Trump is scheduled to take place at the White House today Friday 17 October.
