Prayatno said the dozens of animals consisted of 60 chickens, two squirrels ranked, three sigung mammals, 12 marine animals. In addition, three boxes of supplements and chicken equipment, five boxes of salted fish and two coconuts.

He said the extermination action was carried out because the animal did not meet the quarantine requirements as stipulated in Article 33 of Law Number 21 of 2019 concerning Animal, Fish and Plant Quarantine.

"This action is an affirmation that there is no tolerance for illegal products or passenger luggage that does not have a health certificate from the country of origin," he said.

His party will continue to increase supervision and collaboration between law enforcement agencies while educating the public about quarantine rules.

He said the extermination act was the second catch in 2025 and was the result of good collaboration between agencies.

"We need to be aware of illegal entry and without documents like this because it has the potential to reduce state revenue through import duties and has the potential to damage biodiversity," he said.
