JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Environment Agency (LH) recorded that 126.65 tons of waste was successfully transported after the celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Indonesian National Army (TNI) in the National Monument (Monas) area, Sunday, October 5.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Environment Agency, Asep Kuswanto, said that his party deployed 2,100 cleaners from five Sub-Department of the Environmental Service of the Administrative City and the Water Agency Waste Management Unit (UPS BA).

The officers were deployed at various strategic points to ensure that the Monas area and its surroundings were clean and comfortable again, after being crowded with hundreds of thousands of visitors who enthusiastically watched attractions from NKRI Fort.

"Areas handled by officers include areas in Monas, Medan Merdeka Street, to a number of surrounding roads such as Banteng Field, Tugu Tani, Veteran, Kebon Sirih, Budi Kemuliaan, Pejambon, to KKO Usman Hamid. From all of these areas, a total of 126.65 tons of garbage was collected or about 575 cubic meters," said Asep in his statement, Monday, October 6.

To speed up the cleaning process, DLH has alerted a number of supporting fleets, including 20 inorganic garbage trucks, 22 road sweepers, 20 mini dump trucks, 16 traffic cars, 24 toilet buses, and 149dust bins.

All of these facilities are focused so that public areas can be reused by residents in a short time.

"With the support of thousands of officers and supporting facilities, we ensure that no garbage is left in the public sphere. We also appreciate the residents of Jakarta and visitors from outside the area who have participated in maintaining cleanliness during the celebration," he said.
