Lampung BPBD: 11 Houses Damaged Due To Earthquake Tanggamus

The Lampung Province Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that 11 houses were damaged by an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 in Tanggamus Regency.

"On Friday night at 21.55 WIB, which is located 19 kilometers northwest of Tanggamus Regency, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5. The affected location is in Sembika District, precisely in Sidodadi Village, Tugu Rejo Village, and Karang Rejo Village," said the Lampung Province Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) analyst Wahyu Hidayat when contacted in Bandarlampung, Saturday.

He said the depth of the earthquake was five kilometers. In this incident, no casualties were affected.

"Although there were no casualties, this disaster caused 11 houses to be damaged with varying levels of damage, some were light to heavy in Pekon Sidodadi, Pekon Tugu Rejo, and Pekon Karang Rejo," he said.

He continued the damage to the infrastructure including one unit severely damaged, six units moderately damaged, and four units lightly damaged.

"The earthquake that was felt was quite strong in several sub-districts in Tanggamus Regency, and the Tanggamus Regency BPBD had been directly down to the location since last night," he said.

He explained that from this incident, efforts had been made to overcome and respond quickly, such as conducting field assessments. Where the Tanggamus Regency BPBD team has conducted a damage assessment and coordinated with local officials to identify the impact of the earthquake as a whole.

"For logistical needs, an urgent need has been identified in the form of logistics to support affected communities, with the calculation of losses still in process," he added.

He also appealed to the public to remain calm and alert to possible aftershocks that could occur after the main earthquake.
