JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will investigate whether or not there are non-budget funds from the procurement of advertisements at the West Java and Banten Tbk Regional Development Banks or Bank BJB (BJB) by the former Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil to run in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

Acting (Plt) Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur said the investigation was carried out because investigators had a flow of Bank BJB non-budget funds for Ridwan Kamil's needs. Among them, to buy the Mercedes Benz 280 SL belonging to the 3rd President of the Republic of Indonesia B. J. Habibie through his son, Ilham Habibie.

"We are currently investigating, the question was. We are investigating it," Asep told reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, September 10.

Asep said a number of witnesses had also been examined to explore the flow of non-budget funds, such as the program Lisa Mariana and Ilham Habibie.

"So the flow of funds or the use of funds that allegedly flowed to RK's brother, we called earlier, we asked for information from Mr. IH and then Mbak LM," he said.

"Including where else we are investigating, let alone used. Is it used for political purposes and others," continued Asep, who also serves as Director of KPK Investigation.

While on a separate occasion, Asep said Ridwan Kamil allegedly asked for the non-budget funds for his purposes. This request was made when he served as Governor of West Java.

"Then how did RK get the money, at that time he served as Governor of West Java," Asep told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, September 9 evening.

"Bank Jabar is one of the commissioners and the main director provides money for non-budget activities. One of these activities was requested by the officials in West Java Province," he continued.

The KPK once explained that the non-budget funds were obtained from the difference in paying for the procurement of advertisements by Bank BJB.

The agency company is suspected of returning the difference through the Corporate Secretary (corsec) Division of Bank BJB.

Previously reported, Ridwan Kamil's involvement emerged in allegations of corruption in the procurement of advertisements at PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat and Banten Tbk or Bank BJB (BJB) after investigators searched his house. From there, KPK investigators confiscated a number of evidences, including a Royal Enfield motorbike.

Then, investigators also confiscated a blue Mercedes Benz 280 SL at a workshop. This car was later discovered on behalf of the 3rd President of the Republic of Indonesia B. J. Habibie whose purchase had not been paid by Ridwan Kamil.

In this case, the KPK has named five suspects. They are Bank BJB President Director Yuddy Renaldi; Bank BJB Corporate Secretary Division Head Widi Hartoto; Agency Controller Antedja Muliatama and Cakrawala Kreasi Mandiri Kin Asikin Dulmanan; Agency Controller BSC Advertising and PT Wahana Semesta Bandung Ekspres (WSBE) Suhendrik; and Controlling PT Cipta Karya Sukses Bersama (CKSB) and PT Cipta Karya Mandiri Bersama (CKMB) Raden Sophan Jaya Kusuma.

This case investigation warrant (sprindik) was issued on February 27, 2025. The actions of the five suspects are suspected of having caused the state to lose up to Rp22 billion.

Currently, the detention has not been carried out on five suspects. However, they have been prevented from traveling abroad for six months and can be extended according to the needs of the investigation.
