YOGYAKARTA - Gadjah Mada University (UGM) has disabled a lecturer at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine with the initials YHF who has been named a suspect in the circulation of illegal cell derivative products (stem cells) in Magelang, Central Java.
UGM Spokesperson I Made Andi Arsana said the university respects the legal process against YHF for the practice of unlicensed securities services.
"As a quick step, YHF has been disabled from the university's tridharma activities so that the person concerned can focus on dealing with the legal case," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 28.
He emphasized that YHF has never used campus laboratory facilities to produce sekretoms as material for cell therapy.
"All corrupt service practices and cell therapists that are carried out outside the knowledge of the university or faculty are entirely the personal responsibility of the person concerned," said Andi.
According to him, UGM has also provided information and clarification to investigators regarding the research and use of laboratory facilities by YHF during research as teaching staff.
UGM, said Andi, upholds the principle of presumption of innocence and will take personnel steps in accordance with statutory regulations while waiting for a final and binding legal decision.
"Once again, UGM fully respects the ongoing legal process and upholds the principle of presumption of innocence," said Andi Arsana.
Previously, the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) named YHF as a suspect after finding a means of circulating illegal sekretomi products in a veterinarian practice in Potrobangsan Village, North Magelang District, Magelang City, on July 25, 2025.
This facility serves human patients with illegal secret injection therapy, even though YHF owners only have a practice permit as veterinarians.
From the results of the crime scene, PPNS BPOM found accretom product ready to use in eppendorf tubes, 23 secret bottles in 5 liter packaging, cream containing a secret, syringe equipment, and a patient identity-sified cooling thermos. The economic value of these findings reached Rp230 billion.
