Brigadier Esco's Mysterious Death With His Neck Entangled Still Under Investigation By West Lombok Police

MATARAM - West Lombok Resort Police, West Nusa Tenggara, stated that the investigation into the death of Brigadier Esco Faska Rely is still ongoing. Esco was found dead with his neck entangled in a rope in a garden of a resident of Jembatan Suspension Village.

"I have not received a delegation to convey this case to the public, but what is clear is that the handling is still ongoing," said Head of the West Lombok Police Public Relations Section Iptu Amirudin by telephone from Mataram, Antara, Thursday, August 28.

The case of the discovery of Brigadier Esco's body is under the control of the West Lombok Police Satreskrim Team. However, the Head of the West Lombok Police Satreskrim, AKP Lalu Eka Arya Mardiwinata, has not provided further information.

"(Investigation) this is a combination with the NTB Regional Police," he said briefly.

The Director of General Criminal Investigation at the NTB Police, Kombes Pol. Syarif Hidayat, confirmed that his party only helped the West Lombok Police. "Sorry, until now, the West Lombok Police are still handling it, we are fully 'back-up'," said Syarif.

Previously, Syarif said investigators asked for the support of the National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) to hack the cellphone belonging to Brigadier Esco which was locked with the code only known to the deceased. The phone is important evidence to track Esco's latest communication data.

In addition, the police have obtained the autopsy results from the Bhayangkara Mataram Hospital. The forensic team found indications of acts of violence that caused the death of the West Lombok Police personnel.

The body of Brigadier Esco was first discovered by residents on Sunday, August 24 at 11.30 WITA while supine to the neck entangled with a rope tied to a small tree trunk. From the location, the police secured a number of personal items, such as cell phones, watches, and motorcycle keys.
