JAKARTA - The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) has asked the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) to routinely evaluate the performance of the Integrated Task Force for Handling and Guidance of Community Organizations (Ormas) Affiliated by Thugs.

In the activity of Strengthening the Actualization of Pancasila Values in Maintaining Unity and Unity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia in Semarang, Central Java, Friday (25/7), the Director General of Politics and General Administration (Polpum) of the Ministry of Home Affairs Bahtiar Bahharuddin said evaluation was needed as an assessment material for the performance of Forkopimda which will be carried out at the national level through the Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs.

"Every week on Wednesday, the implementation of the Task Force's duties is evaluated," said Bahtiar as quoted from a written statement in Jakarta, Saturday.

Bahtiar also appealed to local governments, including the Central Java Provincial Government, to ensure the establishment of the Ormas Task Force in all regencies/cities and routinely evaluate their performance.

He reminded that freedom of association and assembly still has limits in accordance with applicable regulations, so that if someone commits a violation, sanctions will be given, ranging from simple sanctions, namely administrative to disbandment.

According to him, not a few mass organizations were originally established for the benefit of goodness, but in practice they deviate from their goals and are contrary to the essence of the purpose of forming the mass organization.

In fact, he said, Article 1 of Law (UU) Number 17 of 2013 concerning Mass Organizations, stated that mass organizations were organizations that were established and formed by the community voluntarily based on the common aspirations, wills, needs, interests, and activities with the aim of participating in development in order to achieve the goals of the Republic of Indonesia.

On the other hand, Bahtiar revealed that thuggery and unscrupulous mass organizations were involved in disrupting investment.

He said the disruption caused the state to lose nearly Rp900 trillion based on the calculation of the Ministry of Investment. He believes that this action not only interferes with investment, but also threatens Indonesia's competitiveness in the international world.

Meanwhile, based on data from the Directorate General of Polpum, the Ministry of Home Affairs, throughout 2024 there were 1,540 cases of investment disruptions carried out by unscrupulous mass organizations in Indonesia.

"How many disturbances have occurred, the time is now we are in order. There is a task force in the province that will regulate and we will evaluate it," he said.

He emphasized that the task force should not be afraid of mass organizations that violate it because the State must not comply with them.

The forums that were held were also attended by participants from the Central Java Forkopimda, starting from the Prosecutor's Office, Provincial and Regency/City Kesbangpol, TNI, Police, and elements of the City Government.

The activity carries the theme "Technasticization of Pancasila Values" coupled with the Evaluation of the Integrated Task Force for Handling and Development of Affiliated Ormas for Premanism Activities that Disrupt Public Security and Order Facilities and the Investment Climate".
