Persija Sponsorship Through Bank Jakarta, Rano Karno: Prove You Deserve To Be Champions

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno asked Persija Jakarta football club to prove they were able to become league champions.

This was revealed after the signing of sponsorship cooperation through the sports platform between Bank Jakarta and PT Persija Jaya Jakarta.

"Prove that you really deserve to be league champions. Jakmania has been waiting for Jakarta's glory in its own city for too long," said Rano at Menteng Park, Central Jakarta, Thursday, July 17.

Rano hopes that Persija can appear consistent and win the title this season. Because, the last time Persija brought the trophy to City Hall was after winning Liga 1 in 2018 and the 2021 Menpora Cup.

The DKI Provincial Government, he continued, is ready to encourage dozens of other regional-owned enterprises (BUMD) to cooperate with Persija, following what was done with Bank Jakarta.

"Hopefully Persija can focus and achieve maximum results. Hopefully in 2027 or 2026 he can become the champion. If Persija becomes the champion, extraordinary. It means that our target is achieved," said Rano.

On the other hand, the DKI Provincial Government also provides support to Persija by promising the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) to become the headquarters of the Kemayoran Tiger club.

"I want one day to be able to lift the trophy with Jakmania at the JIS stadium. That's the dream of all of us. Hopefully, we don't move again. We need symbols attached, not those who move," explained Rano.

Meanwhile, President Director of PT Bank Jakarta Agus H. Widodo said that this collaboration was carried out because Bank Jakarta wanted to be part of Persija's journey, more than just a logo on the jersey.

'Persija is the spirit of the citizens of Jakarta. We want to be part of Persija's journey. Agile, loyalty, and extraordinary positive energy, in line with the new spirit of Bank Jakarta which is advanced, dynamic, and relevant for today's generation and the future," said Agus.

Agus conveyed that Persija's support is believed to be in line with the current transformation of Bank Jakarta.

"Bank Jakarta is growing, improving, and ready to become a bank that is not only close to service, but also close to the heart. We want to be present in spaces that have meaning for Jakarta residents. And Persija is one of them", he added.
