PKS President Calls The Proposal For Impeachment Of Gibran Reflection On Democracy Countries

JAKARTA - The proposal to impeach Vice President (Wapres) Gibran Rakabuming Raka is considered by the President of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Al Muzzammil Yusuf as a reflection of a democratic country.

Moreover, he said, the initiators of the proposal were officials, the Indonesian National Army (TNI), and so on, who loved the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

"Of course PKS respects the various political dynamics that exist," said Muzzammil at the Peak Press Conference of the PKS 1446 H Sacrifice Slaughter Event in Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, June 7.

PKS, he said, works as a party and board members constitutionally. As far as things go on constitutionally, PKS will only be involved in it.

Muzzammil admitted that he still hopes and prays for the best leadership for Indonesia. He emphasized that the success of President Prabowo Subianto's government was the joy of 280 million Indonesians, which PKS was in.

Thus, it is said that PKS always strives as hard as possible, in the House of Representatives (RI) and the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) in the regions, in doing their best for this success.

"Our pilgrims in Makkah, where we pray, our prayers here, we appeal, all of us, pray for the good of the nation and state in the future," he said.

The Retired Forum for TNI Soldiers sent a letter to the Indonesian House of Representatives regarding the proposed impeachment of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

The letter, which has the date of May 26, 2025, was addressed to the Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly for the period 2024-2029 and the Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the period 2024-2029.

The letter was, among others, signed by General TNI (Ret.) Fachrul Razi, Marshal TNI (Ret.) Hanafi Asnan, General TNI (Ret.) Tyasno Soedarto, and Admiral TNI (Ret.) Slamet Soebianto.

Previously, Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, admitted that he had not read the proposal letter from the Retired TNI Soldiers Forum regarding the proposed impeachment of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

He also explained that the DPR RI is currently entering a recess period. However, he admitted to visiting his office to sign letters related to his duties as a legislator, and had not found the letter on his desk.

"Yes, haven't read it yet, how to respond?" said Dasco at the parliament complex, Jakarta, Wednesday (4/6).

According to him, the letter is still with the Secretary General (Sekjen) of the DPR RI and has not been forwarded to the leadership of the DPR RI. When he was in the parliament complex, he had not met with the Secretary General of the DPR RI.
