SERANG - A resident of Seuat Village, Lightning District, Serang Regency, Banten, worked together to dismantle 31 fake sacred tombs that stood on the waqf land of the Kamadean Village Public Cemetery (TPU).
Serang Police Chief, AKBP Condro Sasongko, explained that the demolition of the fake tomb was carried out after Muspika and the Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of Lightning District, religious leaders and the community held a meeting at the Lightning Sub-district Office on Monday (2/6).
Based on information from local residents, it is known that in the waqf land area there is one tomb of a local community leader.
However, at this time in the tomb area there are dozens of tombs whose origins are unknown.
"Based on information, in 2018 there was only one tomb that was observed by local residents. However, over time, 31 new tombs appeared around the sacred tomb whose origins were unclear," he explained as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 3.
From public information, said Condro, the fake tombs were built by Suhada, a resident of Karawang Regency, West Java who had relatives in Seiat Village. It is suspected that Suhada built a fake grave to benefit from people seeking pesugihan.
"The information is that the fake tombs were built by Suhada to get benefits from people who are looking for pesugihan," he said.
The allegedly fake graves were built using hebel bricks and on the tombstones were written by the names of the guardians including Sheikh Antaboga, Pajajaran, Nyi Mas Ratu Gandasari, Prabu Tajimalela, Ratu Sunda Galuh, Nyai Sangketa and others.
"In addition to making a fake sacred tomb, Suhada also made a tunnel or cave that was suspected of being used for the pesugihan ritual," he explained.
Public unrest against Suhada is not only questioned by the fake tombs which are used as places of worship. Residents also said that the man from Karawang was considered to have spread heretical teachings.
"Residents also think that Suhada spreads heretical teachings not to perform Friday prayers and fasting Ramadan," he said.

This demolition was carried out as a form of rejection of the existence of tombs that were considered unclear from their origins and were considered only to mislead the public.
"We are still investigating Suhada's whereabouts and currently the location of the burial has been installed with a police line. To maintain the conduciveness of the security and social order, we also prioritize Bhabinkamtibmas officers," he said.
