The Palace Respects The Legal Process Regarding Allegations Of Jokowi's Fake Diplomas

Minister of State Secretary and Spokesperson for President Prasetyo Hadi said the Palace respects the ongoing legal process related to the diploma of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo who was accused of being fake by a handful of people.

Prasetyo said the focus of President Prabowo Subianto's Palace and government did not take care of the polemic of the diploma.

"We respect it because it is a legal process. The results have been conveyed by Bareskrim, yes, of course we respect it, because for us, of course, we are more focused on working," said Prasetyo Hadi in response to reporters' questions when he was met at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Friday, May 23.

Prasetyo also invited all parties to have the same spirit in building the nation and state.

"Let us all really focus on carrying out our duties. Work as well as possible for the community. We reduce things that are less productive, less impactful. The spirit is now that we want to build the nation and state by implementing programs that we believe will have a significant impact on the community," said the spokesman for the President of the Republic of Indonesia.

Previously, the Directorate of General Crimes (Dittipidum) of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police during a press conference in Jakarta, Thursday (22/5), stated the diploma of the 7th Presidential High School Joko Widodo as a native. The National Police said the facts were obtained after testing by investigators at the Dittipidum with the Forensic Laboratory Center (Puslabfor) Bareskrim Polri.

"The legalization of the Decree (SK) of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 0353/0/1985 of 1985 concerning the change of the name of SMPP to SMA in which the name SMPP Surakarta was changed to SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta," said the Director of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Brigadier General Pol. Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro.

Investigators then checked the authenticity of the study completion certificate (STTB) on behalf of Joko Widodo with a comparison sample in the form of a diploma belonging to three of Jokowi's colleagues while studying at SMAN 6 Surakarta.

The tests, he said, included paper materials, paper safety, printed techniques, handwritten ink, stamps, and school principal signature ink.

As a result, it was known that the stamps on Jokowi's STTB were identical to those at SMPP Purwodadi, Grobogan, and Wonogiri in 1980.

"The stamp on the diploma is the same. It's just that, there was written SMP under SMAN 6," he said.

In addition, the identification number listed on the STTB was also found by investigators on the student identification card book of SMAN 6 Surakarta.

"Investigators checked the list of names of students at SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta in 1977, 1978, 1979 and found Joko Widodo's name," he said.

Police investigators also examined the authenticity of Jokowi's university diploma at the Faculty of Forestry, Gadjah Mada University (UGM).

Jokowi's original certificate was tested in a laboratory with comparative samples in the form of diplomas from three Jokowi colleagues during a lecture at the Faculty of Forestry UGM. The tests included paper materials, paper safety, printed techniques, handwritten ink, stamps, and the signatures of the dean and chancellor at the time.

As a result, it was known that Jokowi's diploma, which was proof of the diploma that was a comparison, was identical.

After collecting the results of the investigation, examining witnesses and documents, and carrying out the case title, the Dittipidum also stated that no criminal acts were found.
