A number of vehicles have been able to cross Jalan Gatot Subroto towards Slipi or in front of the DPR/MPR RI Building after the mass of workers was dispersed by the police, Jakarta, Thursday (1/5/2025).

JAKARTA - A number of vehicles have been able to cross the road in front of the DPR/MPR RI building, Senayan, where previously it could not be crossed due to thousands of workers holding an action to commemorate International Labor Day (May Day) 2025, Thursday.

Based on information gathered in the field, it can be seen that a number of vehicles have passed by passing through Jalan Gatot Subroto towards Slipi, West Jakarta.

In the mass action, there was a small friction in front of the parliament building between the masses of workers, which made the police intervene to disperse the masses.

Brimob troops began to come out to curb the mass of the workers. In fact, a number of troops formed barricades using shields, using motorbikes, and also two rantis cars were issued to disperse the masses.

The police also sprayed water to disperse the masses who were still standing in the parliament building.

Polda Metro Jaya has prepared 13,252 joint personnel to secure International Labor Day or May Day activities on Thursday (1/5).

The tens of thousands of joint personnel consisting of 9,591 Polri personnel, 3,385 TNI personnel and 276 regional government personnel.

The commemoration of Labor Day or May Day is centered in the National Monument (Monas) area, Central Jakarta, and is expected to be attended by around 200 thousand workers from Jabodetabek and its surroundings.

In their action, the workers conveyed six aspirations, including asking to ratify the Basic Employment Bill (RUU). Then also demand to determine the national decent wage, as well as enforce criminal acts of corruption.
