Package Courier Becomes Victim Of Wrong Brawl Target, Watered Liquid Allegedly Watered

JAKARTA A package courier named Achmad Zaki was the victim of a mistargeted brawl between groups in the Terogong area, Cilandak, South Jakarta, on Friday afternoon, April 11, 2025. Zaki was injured after being doused with liquid which was suspected of being hard water.

Zaki said the incident occurred when he had just finished delivering the package around the back of the Bumi Mas Apartment. On his way, he saw a number of vehicles stop and initially thought there was a traffic jam.

"I thought it was a traffic jam, it turned out to be a brawl," he said when confirmed.

Unexpectedly, from the direction of the crowd that was fighting, someone suddenly threw liquid at him. He suspected that the perpetrator thought he was part of the group involved in the commotion.

"One of them immediately attacked, threw liquid. Maybe I was mistaken for joining the brawl," said Zaki.

As a result of the incident, Zaki was injured and immediately rushed to the hospital for medical treatment. So far, there has been no official information regarding the identity of the perpetrator or the type of liquid used.

Authorities are expected to investigate this case immediately, considering that incidents of mistargeting in brawls could endanger civilians who are not involved.
