East OKU Ministry Of Religion Sets Zakat Fitrah At IDR 37,500 Per Person

OKU - The Office of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) of East Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency, South Sumatra has set the amount of zakat fitrah 1446 H / 2025 M as much as 2.5 kilograms (Kg) of rice or IDR 37,500 per person.

Acting Head of the East OKU Ministry of Religion, Sariyono, said the amount of zakat fitrah was calculated from the price of rice of Rp. 15,000 per kilogram.

"If 2.5 kg of rice is calculated, the replacement money for zakat is IDR 37,500 per person," he said in Martapura, Antara, Wednesday, March 12.

He explained that this decision was based on the results of a joint meeting with the East OKU Regency Government, MUI, religious leaders, and other religious organizations in the area regarding the stipulation of zakat fitrah standards for Eid al-Fitr this year.

From the results of the meeting, several important points have been agreed, including the amount of zakat fitrah can be fulfilled in the form of rice or staple foods worth 2.5 kilograms per person.

According to him, the determination of zakat fitrah standards is very important and is eagerly awaited by the community to purify their assets in the month of Ramadan.

With the issuance of the circular, the people of East OKU have been able to pay zakat fitrah in accordance with the stipulated provisions.

He also asked that every mosque, prayer room or place that receives zakat fitrah should also socialize the amount of zakat in 2025 to the people in the area.

"Zakat is aimed at the poor and poor who are handed over no later than the meeting opens at the end of Ramadan. Meanwhile, to convey zakat itself, it is permissible before the Eid prayer time," he explained.
