Students Involved In Brawls, South Lampung Police Will Give Strict Sanctions

JAKARTA Brawls between students are back in the South Lampung region, sparking public and police concerns. Several incidents were even recorded in videos circulating widely on social media, showing teenagers carrying sharp weapons such as sickles and machetes.

Responding to this, the South Lampung Police Chief AKBP Yusriandi Yusrin emphasized that his party would take firm steps against the perpetrators.

"All the brawlers have been summoned to the Resort Police. We are also investigating videos that are troubling the public, where children are seen carrying sharp weapons and possibly airsoft guns that can be dangerous," said Yusriandi in Kalianda, Lampung, Sunday (9/3/2025).

He added that the South Lampung Police continued to conduct socialization to anticipate illegal racing, sarong wars, and violent content that often increased during the month of Ramadan.

"I hope no more children are involved, but if there are still, I will pursue and take firm action," he said.

The police chief has also instructed the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit and Kapolsek Kalida to identify and arrest the perpetrators of violent brawls and content creators.

For teenagers caught fighting, the police will take their fingerprints and reject the submission of a Police Records Certificate (SKCK), which could have an impact on their future.

The police chief also reminded that the creation and distribution of videos of violence on social media could lead to legal consequences.

The South Lampung Police also invites the public, especially parents and educators, to be more active in providing understanding to children so as not to fall into actions that harm themselves or others.

"We are committed to creating a safe and conducive environment, especially during the holy month of Ramadan," he concluded.
