Member Of The Indonesian House Of Representatives Supports Bengkulu Besurek Batik MSMEs To Increase Competitiveness

The CITY of BENGKULU - Member of Commission VII DPR RI for the Bengkulu, Erna Sari Dewi, in Bengkulu, Saturday stated that his party wanted to encourage micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Bengkulu Province, especially Batik Besurek craftsmen, to advance to class.

He said that a number of efforts could be made to support Besurek Batik craftsmen in Bengkulu Province to advance to class as given by capital through the people's business credit program (KUR) channeled by state-owned enterprises (BUMN) banks, especially those who are members of the Association of State-Owned Banks (Himbara).

Then, explore the ability of self-art in batik, distributing equipment assistance, and providing Besurek Batik education.

"This is also part of my work in the field of MSMEs, I certainly focus on seeing how MSMEs in Bengkulu Province develop. Incidentally, today we are going to the Besurek batik MSMEs, we want to see how the government supports batik craftsmen so that they can develop," he said, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, March 8.

This is done, because Batik Besurek is one of the local wisdoms of Bengkulu Province, so that the government can pay special attention to batik MSMEs so that they can develop more.

"Throughout the history of economic growth, successful efforts are MSMEs. So why is Besurek batik closely related to culture and can grow the economy of small communities, and overall economic growth," explained Erna.

For this reason, MSME players, especially Batik Besurek craftsmen, can be more creative, especially in the field of promotion or marketing, one of which is that they can sell through e-commerce which is easily accessible to the public.

Furthermore, explained Erna, internet influencers or celebrities can also help MSME players to promote their products so that they are better known to the wider community.

"Of course, it must be more creative in terms of promotion, marketing and others, it must be regulated from the start, because they cannot sell online in order to penetrate the global market, one of which is through e-commerce," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bengkulu Province Industry and Trade Office (Disperindag) Foritha Ramadhani Wati hopes that the working visit of Commission VII members can provide motivation and support to MSME actors, especially Batik Besurek craftsmen.

"We would like to thank Erna Sari Dewi, who has visited MSMEs, one of which is batik craftsmen in Batik Besurek Village," he said.
