JAKARTA - The Banten Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Service Center (BP3MI) followed up on complaints about Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) with the initials I being a victim of exploitation in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
BP3MI Banten in its statement stated that his party received the complaint from family I that the victim, who worked as a Laksana Rumah Tangga (PLRT) in the UAE, was tortured and not paid while working.
"PMI is not paid by employers while working and is experiencing torture," wrote a report from BP3MI Banten received via electronic message, Jakarta, Tuesday, February 4.
Banten BP3MI officers then coordinated with the migrant worker placement company to facilitate the repatriation of victim I to Indonesia.
The repatriation process was carried out on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. Victim I was flown using Royal Brunei Airlines BI737 and picked up by the family upon arrival at the Lounge of the Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KemenP2MI) at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang Banten.
"It has been followed up by TRC Banten with the results in question being repatriated on Tuesday, March 4, 2025," wrote the BP3MI Banten report.

Separately, the Minister for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI) Abdul Kadir Karding reminded people who want to work abroad to follow official procedures.
