Hasto Kubu Calls Determination Of KPK Suspects Without Investigation Process

JAKARTA - PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto's attorney, Todung Mulya Lubis, assessed that the determination of the suspect against his client was invalid so that the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) had to cancel. The reason is because the process of determining it without going through an investigation.

"There are so many irregularities, we can talk about how the evidence was obtained, how the investigation process was carried out, and we said earlier that the investigation process was not preceded by the investigation process," said Todung at the South Jakarta District Court, Wednesday, February 5.

That way, the determination of the suspect against Hasto, which was judged to have been carried out suddenly by the KPK, did not comply with the rules. Therefore, at the pretrial hearing, his party asked the sole judge to order the KPK to cancel the status of his client suspect. .

"Well, this is what has become increasingly missing in the examination process in Indonesia, immediately entering the investigation not through investigation," said Todung.

Hasto is known to have been named a suspect in the alleged case of interim replacement bribery (PAW) which also ensnared former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan and his fugitive, Harun Masiku.

Not only Hasto, but the KPK has also named Donny Tri Istiqomah, who is a PDIP cadre and a lawyer as a suspect.

In fact, in its development, the KPK has also named Hasto as a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. The PDIP Secretary General is suspected of trying to obstruct the legal process, one of which is by asking Harun to damage his cellphone and run away after the arrest operation (OTT) was carried out.

After becoming a suspect, Hasto's camp filed a pretrial lawsuit. This case is registered with case number 5/Pid.Pra/2025/PN JKT.SEL and Djumyanto acting as the sole judges.
