KPK Reminds No Parties To Arrange Witnesses In Harun Masiku Case

This warning was conveyed by KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika when asked about the absence of a number of witnesses when summoned in this case. Among them are Darmadi Djufri as a lawyer; Dewi Anggi who has the status of managing a household; Diah Okta Sari as a student/student; and Moh. Ilham Yulianto who is an entrepreneur.

The four witnesses were supposed to undergo examination at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta on Thursday, January 30.

"In this case, investigators hope that witnesses who do know that there is a call today to be cooperative and if there is a re-fall for further information requests, they can attend," said Tessa, quoted on Monday, February 3.

Tessa said the absence of a number of witnesses had become a concern. "This is still being investigated, yes, by investigators (the reason, ed)," he said.

All parties are asked to respect the ongoing legal process. Investigators also hope that no party will try to regulate witness statements, regulating in this case conveying what is not true or not conveying the truth," said Tessa.

Tessa also said that witnesses who felt threatened could submit to the number in the summons. The KPK is sure to be ready to provide assistance.

"We also hope that these witnesses can freely provide information, not under threats. If it is true that there are witnesses who feel threatened to be able to convey and of course the KPK will provide protection to the person concerned," said the spokesman with the investigator's background.

As previously reported, Harun Masiku is a suspect in the bribery case of former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan. This gift was given so that the former legislative candidate could become a member of parliament for the 2019-2024 period replacing the candidate who died.

KPK kemudian mengembangkan kasus suap tersebut dengan menetapkan Sekjen PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto dan Donny Tri Istiqomah yang merupakan kader PDIP sekaligus pengacara.
