JAKARTA - It's really sad, at the age of minors, RAP (14) and JP (17) were the perpetrators of the robbery of a cellphone belonging to a trader at a shophouse in the Jelambar area, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta.

Worse, the teenager with the initials RAP carried a sharp sickle in action. The 14-year-old boy also threatened to kill victim A if he shouted.

For their actions, the two young teenagers had to be arrested by members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Grogol Petamburan Police.

The arrest of the perpetrator began when the two were about to steal the motorbike at the location. Because of experiencing difficulties during the action, the RAP perpetrator finally switched to a shophouse that seemed open with a sickle.

Meanwhile, his colleague, JP, is waiting outside the shophouse.

"So the shophouse was originally a place to sell fried rice, satay like that. Incidentally, it was still open, he saw that there was a cellphone there. Then he took it, coincidentally the person concerned (the victim) was there too," said Grogol Petamburan Police Chief Kompol Reza Hafiz Gumilang, Thursday, January 23.

When the perpetrator of the RAP took action, the victim woke up. Realizing that the action was known, the perpetrator then threatened to kill the victim with a sickle.

"(The perpetrator) threatened the victim 'don't move or I kill you'. Then then he ran away," he said.

Luckily, the action was caught on CCTV cameras. Shortly after the incident, the police received information from residents about the robbery carried out by two children with age.

The police then immediately arrested the two perpetrators who were at their parents' house.

"So the relay, first arrested the executor, then arrested the friend," he said.

However, when examined, the perpetrator admitted that this was the first time he had committed the theft. The reason is economic difficulties.

The two perpetrators are still undergoing investigation at the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Grogol Petamburan Police.
